A yin yoga class is a slow-paced, meditative style of yoga that focuses on holding passive poses for longer periods, typically 2–5 minutes or more. The goal is to stretch deep connective tissues like fascia, ligaments, and joints, rather than muscle, which can improve flexibility, increase range of motion, and release stress. The practice often uses props like blankets and blocks to support the body, and is a good complement to more active, "yang" styles of exercise!
